Pre-Owned Fender Eric Johnson Stratocaster Maple Fretboard, Two Tone Sunburst

Pre-Owned: Taken in on a part-ex, this guitar is in amazing condition with only home play by the previous owner. Comes with original case and all paperwork.

A genuine early-production example of one of Fender's most fastidiously specified signature models, in mint/near-new condition. Eric Johnson is famously particular about his tone, and this Strat is built to his own exacting brief right down to the last detail — nothing here is generic "signature model" window dressing.

Body & Finish
Lightweight two-piece alder body with deep '57-style contours, finished in thin-skin gloss nitrocellulose lacquer for maximum resonance. Classic 2-Colour Sunburst.

Neck
One-piece quartersawn maple neck, vintage-tinted nitro finish, 12" fingerboard radius with 21 highly-polished medium-jumbo frets. Soft "V" carve transitioning to a fuller Large "C" profile by the 12th fret — the original neck feel Fender specified before later production was standardised to a Soft V throughout. As an early (2008) example, this also predates the rosewood fingerboard option, introduced in 2009 — a maple-board guitar as EJ originally specified it.

Headstock & Hardware
Small vintage-style headstock with staggered Fender/Gotoh tuning machines — no string tree, a detail Johnson insisted on for improved tuning stability. Bone nut. Vintage-style synchronised tremolo with silver-painted block and five springs; no back cover, again per Johnson's own spec, for maximum body resonance.

Electronics
Special Design Custom Shop Eric Johnson single-coil pickups with countersunk mounting screws — the original naming used on early production runs, later revised by Fender to "Specially Voiced Eric Johnson Pickups" without a change in spec. Master Volume, neck Tone, bridge Tone, 5-way switching.

Case
Deluxe blonde hardshell case with black ends and black interior.
