Leo Fender’s classic design was nigh on perfect in 1951 and it remains so, but subtle refinements such as those that have been applied to the Mexican Player Series can make a Telecaster an even more attractive option.
These include the provision of bent steel saddles rather than the traditional blocks, 22 medium jumbo rather than 21 narrow/tall frets, and some snazzy finishes to augment the classics, but probably best of all is the loaded set of Player Series single coil pickups. Still boasting the classic alnico V magnet at their core, they’re slightly hotter than you might expect and the resultant tones can go from a warm vintage-flavoured Tele twang through all-out blues warfare to frantic Biffy thrashing; it’ll even handle Zep-style rock too and all sound wholly authentic.
Needless to say, it’s built like a truck and is therefore likely to able to stand up to all manner of abuse, and if you’ve been hankering after a Tele but weren’t sure how to proceed this is something you really have to try. We always have a wide selection in stock so give us a call.
