About Us

The Guitar Specialist

A Strings is an independent, family owned music shop based in South Wales, UK specialising in guitar and bass. We are Wales' only Fender Showcase Dealer, stocking all ranges from Squier through to Fender Custom Shop. We are also Wales' only stockists of Gibson and Epiphone instruments. We are proud dealers for Yamaha, Paul Reed Smith, Gretsch, Jackson, Charvel, Faith, Takamine and Ovation guitars, and Blackstar, Vox, Marshall, Orange amplification.

The Shop for Guitar Strings

A Strings have one of the largest selections of guitar strings and accessories in the UK, not only stocking entire ranges from big names like D’Addario, Ernie Ball, Elixir, Rotosound, Dean Markley, GHS and Martin, but also hard to find boutique brands such as Optima, Thomastik, DR Strings, Cleartones and Elites. We even stock less common variations, so whether you need flatwound strings for your super-long scale 5-string bass, or a spare set for your pedal steel, we've got you covered. This vast selection, along with our tuition and repair services, makes us your one stop shop for all things guitar!

In addition to guitars, we also stock other musical instruments, such as ukuleles, banjos, mandolins and bouzoukis, sheet music and tutorial books, and recording equipment such as microphones and audio interface. We can also supply and carry consumables and accessories for drums, violins, brass and woodwind instruments and more.

South Wales' destination for Digital Pianos, Keyboards and PA

Since our move to The Barn, we've considerably expanded the range of digital pianos  we offer in store and online. We are an approved dealer for Yamaha digital pianos and keyboards, including their industry leading Clavinova range of instruments alongside best-sellers such as the Arius YDP and Portable P-Series pianos. We have been long-time stockists of Korg digital pianos and are proud to continue to stock these quality instruments.

Stage pianos are stocked in the form of the Yamaha CK, CP and YP series, and Korg's SV Series.

Our new showroom allows us to proudly display for the first time synthesisers from Yamaha - MODX, Montage - and the wide range of Korg mini/micro synths. All keyboards are on display and demo ready.

Choosing the right PA speaker has never been easier! We have all options out on display and we can switch between speakers by clicking a button. Mixers, microphones (from Shure, PreSonus and more), headphones, interfaces and more are carried in stock.
