American Ultra II is Fender's flagship series, and the Jazz Bass V in Gold Dust is about as advanced as a five-string gets: a select alder body, a roasted AAA flame maple neck with Modern D profile, and a 10"–14" compound-radius fingerboard that stays comfortable low down and fast up high. Sculpted body contours and a tapered neck heel give genuinely unrestricted access to the upper register — rare on a five-string.

Ultra II Noiseless Vintage Jazz Bass pickups feed a redesigned active preamp with S-1 switching (active/passive), a passive tone control, and 3-band EQ with switchable midrange frequency — enormous tonal range from vintage warmth to modern punch, with zero hum. A HiMass bridge (string-through or top-load), lightweight tapered tuners and a deluxe hardshell case (included) complete a genuinely pro-grade instrument.
