The Legacy 514ce goes back to where the Grand Auditorium began. Built as part of Taylor's 50th anniversary, it uses the X-bracing Bob Taylor designed for the very first Grand Auditorium models in 1994, paired with a tonewood combination you won't find in Taylor's standard line: a Western Red cedar top over mahogany back and sides. Cedar brings warmth and a soft, responsive feel under lighter playing, while mahogany adds a punchy, woody midrange, making it a natural fit for fingerstyle players and gentle strummers. Taylor's slim, easy-playing neck keeps it comfortable, and an LR Baggs Element VTC pickup handles plugged-in duties.
Not to be confused with the standard 514ce, the Legacy model features original-style X-bracing, LR Baggs electronics, gold tuners and a deluxe hardshell case. Legacy models are built as shown and cannot be modified.
